Titel: En intakt nerv kan räcka för lyckad frenikusstimulering [summary] (serie: Tema spinalskador) 2009 nr 11 sid 779
|
Summary:
Complete spinal cord injury above C4 implies loss of voluntary breathing capacity. If the patient is rescued immediately he/she may survive the injury. The phrenic nerves may be able to stimulate by an implanted pacemaker. We report three cases of phrenic nerve stimulation. In one case only one nerve was able to stimulate, but the patient could still be out of his ventilator during daytime, relying only on his stimulator.
