Titel: Förändrad livsstil kan förhindra typ 2-diabetes. Interventionsstudier visar goda resultat hos "prediabetiker" [summary] 2007 nr 49 sid 3771-4

Summary:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a serious progressive disease where life expectancy is shortened. Therefore it is important to prevent or to delay the development of the disease. In recent years, several good clinical trials, both using lifestyle- or pharmacological interventions, in individuals at high risk i. e. with intermediate hyperglycemia, have reported favourable results. These studies have shown that it is possible to reduce the incidence of diabetes. We therefore recommend, as first choice, lifestyle interventions because they are effective, safe and promote good health.
