Titel: Morbiditet och mortalitet ökar hos kvinnor med KOL [summary] (serie: Tema KOL) 2007 nr 13 sid 1040-2

Summary:
COPD morbidity and mortality among Swedish women has markedly increased since 1990. A similar pattern is seen in all Western European countries. Some epidemiological data suggest that smoking women are more sensitive than men to develop deteriorated ventilatory function and COPD. Women also seem to get worse symptoms from COPD as compared to men with similar deterioration of ventilatory function. Thus COPD in women seems to be a more severe disease state than in men.
